4/19 Game Thread: Dodgers at Braves (Mourning Wood?)

BTW, I thought all along that Blair should be the top rated pitching prospect for us. The way he is going he'll get there, thanks again Arizona!

Inciarte, Blair and the topping - Swanson. Blair May of given them close to Miller's productive. Such a dumb GM.

It really was a great return and unlikely to be topped in a long while. We got one of the best defensive OF's in MLB in Inciarte, a top pitching prospect that is almost ready and unlike Newcomb not such a high risk but still has a lot of potential, and one of the top rated shortstop prospects in the game who was number one overall pick in the last draft. That is A LOT for Miller and I liked Miller plenty too. Further, we certainly needed that after Olivera bust of a trade and getting high risk and too light of a return for Simmons.

Braves hit some tough luck on shifts in the first week of the season, but the increased shifts have been working out pretty darn well in recent games.

Did mallex hit double hard or was it a fluke?

This team could be a 500 team playing like this. Prob could trade off some pieces and call up guys after the deadline and get a lot better.

The pen is starting to sort itself out. Starting pitching has a chance to be solid, and with Blair and others waiting in the wings it should hold up pretty well over the course of the season.

No, he's still a thrower with a ten cent brain IMO. I've said all along that the Gattis trade will likely come down to Ruiz on our side. Good to see him doing so much better this year after he was so bad last year.

Unless and until someone finally understands Folty could be a dominant RP.

That DP ball from Puig (smoked up the middle directly at Castro, who was playing behind the bag and turned it) was a big momentum shift in the game.

Still spells his name S-h-a-e.

Was following along on my phone. Nice win, but somehow Fredi managed to use 5 pitchers in a blow-out.

"You know after the day off its tough to keep your guys sharp. Just wanted them to get some work in".

Also I think since Baby Harang was on short rest he was going to the pen early.

Still baffles me why fredi let Perez even hit with bases loaded and one out if he knew he was going to pull him soon. Not really trying to create a fredi hate chain. I guess he was hoping baby harang was going to get through that inning to get the win. But if your leash was that tight. Just pat him on the back and let him know that he will have other chances and then pinch hit for him and try and put that game away early.
