I think we'll see Folty first. I think Williams Perez's is dangling by a thread and we all know the odds of a thread holding him for long. I think they move Perez to the pen fairly soon and move Folty up to the rotation. They'll leave Blair in AAA for now because they don't want to start his clock.

I imagine will see a lot of arms shuttling between Gwinett and the big club. Considerations of workload, service time, health, and effectiveness are going to necessitate that, I think.

I'm ready to see Folty get a shot, but only when his endurance is back.

initially I thought Folty would be the first call up.. but I am now leaning more towards Blair. Like above, Perez is dangling by a thread.. I think two or three more starts before he is shuffled off to the pen or demoted and one of those two are called up. Folty just still isn't able to pitch deep and when he gets in trouble can't escape.

Ready to see Blair. You guys think we see Blair or folty first?

I'm hoping they'll audition guys based on a combination of their readiness and their roster situation . . .

Perez, Weber, Kelly: I assume all are just viewed as placeholders and depth plays as it relates to the rotation.

Folty, Gant, Jenkins, Banuelos: IMO, these guys deserve the first shot to show what they have in the rotation once they show a month or two of success at AAA. All are on the 40-man. Gant has used one option year, Folty and Jenkins two, Banuelos four.

Blair, Sims, Whalen: Need to be added to the 40-man this offseason or be exposed to the Rule 5. Really shouldn't burn an option on these guys this year. If they come up, we need to be sure they'll stay up.

Newcomb, Ellis, Povse: Don't need 40-man protection in the 2016-2017 offseason. We need to be stingy with 40-man spots. Would prefer these three stay in the minors all year.

Don't you mean heavy-duty cable?

More like a battleship anchor.

Good article and scouting report on Morales: http://www.talkingchop.com/2016/4/1...-farm-jonathan-morales-scouting-report-braves

Here's some highlights from the report:

"Overall, he has the makings of a really good defensive catcher with the tools he possesses and the fact that he seems to command the respect of his staffs."

"Herbert may have the higher ceiling with his defensive skills, leadership, and pop, but there is no question in our minds that Jonathan Morales' ceiling may not be much lower and he is the more advanced player at this point. He is currently one of the hottest players in the Braves' system and before long, he could move up quickly in a system that is really rather devoid of real catching prospects."

That's pretty bold considering it's a pretty strong rotation at Gwinnett and Mississippi.

Doesn't matter. Those are guys you call up based on their own timetable...meaning you don't call them up until they're ready and you let them figure it out at the major league level beyond that.

If our plan is to improve going into next year and then compete starting in 2018, that will be largely dependent on young pitching. That means you have to let these guys start getting their lumps before then. If they're ready, more time at AAA does them no good.

Albies and Swanson still tearing the cover off the ball. No jinx but go check the Mississippi and Gwinnett box scores

Newcomb just gave up his first hit in the 4th. Blair is pitching out of his mind right now, 7 ip, 0 hits, 1 bb, 10 K
