4/27 @BOS - Knuckling Under

Why is Norris on the team? I don't understand.

Because he's a solid veteran pitcher who provides quality depth and will make our team palatable this year. He's thrown a lot innings and can win you a ball game. These young arms need to see that.

Is that good, Hart and Coppy?

The Norris signing is quickly going the way of Trevor Cahill pick-up last year. Not that it's much of a surprise, just saying. Gimme two or three Chacin's any day over him.

What's even more irritating is Fredi is going to run the bullpen ragged again. Just leave the guy out there. The game is over. We can't ****ing hit.

Gant sitting 93-94 mph mostly so far, I still like his potential a lot with his deception. He's hit 94 mph a few times.

Gant's has been tipping his pitches at times this year so far. That needs to be fixed and if so he'll do much better IMO.

If win "you" a ballgame means the other team wins every game he starts, the statement is accurate.

Still think he needs to mix in a curve or something. He's a pretty much a change up/fastball pitcher. Has a good looking splitter though.

I called that after Coppy's crazy comments about him, of course it was easy to see that he's been in decline if you watched him much last year. I did as I follow Houston and Texas a lot and they of course are in the Angels division.

I looked at his stats during the offseason which showed he was in decline but I sure as hell didn't expect him to be THIS bad. I was expecting a .230 -.250 hitter & slightly below average defense.

He has a curve but you're correct to say that he needs to mix it in more, at least when starting. I think he's went with mainly his two best pitches so far due to pitching out of the bullpen. As fangraphs notes: "Gant throws a low- to mid-90s fastball with great command, an average-ish curve elevated by his ability to throw it for strikes to both sides of the plate, and a wicked changeup with split-type action."

He still might settle in at that if he plays with us long enough, but I expected his below average defense to further decline, just wasn't sure by how much.
