4/28/15 MLB GDT Braves/Nats: Teheran on the bump(Julio Pic)/Some lineup consistency!

Matt Wiliams: "If I'm trying to beat the ball, I try to beat the ball to (3B). If I'm trying to take the man out... I slide past the base."

I didn't see the slide until now but it didn't look dirty to me.

The irony of it is Yunel at times would hustle just as hard as Andrelton did in that play And probably do the same thing given the situation. So I don't think Yunel minded the hard but Clean slide.

Escobar didn't appear to be angry about the slide so I think it was more his teammates reaction.

The replay on MLB.TV showed his foot off the ground and straight at the glove. It was dirty.

Not according to my playbook of rules for games vs the Nats. Plus I don't believe Simmons meant to hurt him, I do believe he wanted to jar the ball loose.

So he should let himself get out? No different then lowering your shoulder at home imo

I'm not complaining, but it was a dirty play. I don't care about it, but if it happened to the Braves, we would all hate him.

I'd rather he do that than headfirst. Plus watching again Andrelton risked himself more than Escobar. It looked worse than it was because Escobar was crowding the base. But keep in mind if Andy puts his foot lower it collides with the base and possible hurts his ankle and if his leg gets jammed into the base it makes him pop-up and hit Yunel. At least he stayed down the entire time

Of course. That's what fandom is all about. It's why someone like AJ is less of an asshole as a Braves.

Braves don't cry about things like that compared to the Nats. last time I remember other than the puny Harper stuff was Erstad-Estrada.
