4/28/15 MLB GDT Braves/Nats: Teheran on the bump(Julio Pic)/Some lineup consistency!

They can't replace Wright (even though he hasn't been the same in a while) but the Mets have pitching for days and their replacement for Darnaud is another top catching prospects. Legitimately, the Mets are loaded and have much more help on the way.

My point is that being in a division with us rebuilding and Nats struggling big time, while Philly is tanking and Miami having issues, is why the Mets have a better shot now despite those losses.

The Mets are good.

Harvey, DeGrom is a legit 1-2.

And Colon, Gee, Niese is a solid 3-4-5 to fill out the rotation.

And the lineup is quite solid as well.

I still think the Nats get on a run eventually, too much talent not too.

But i was listening to the ESPN broadcast yesterday, they brought up an interesting point. Washington is already 8 back, not a huge gap.

But i think it was Mulder that said having Harvey and DeGrom will kill losing streaks.

I still agree with what the Braves did, and i'm not sure our record is that much better if we just kept the same team.

Dont have AJ, Gomes, Markakis, Miller, etc.

Rotation is probably a mess, without Miller.

Probably something like Julio, Wood, Martin, Hale, veteran stop gap.

His velocity has been a tad off this year and his control has been consistently poor this year.

Something to monitor.

I'm watching on the mlb network and it looks like Teheran's outer-half stuff is kind of sitting there asking to be spanked.

Mets are better than you think.

They're gonna be good for a long time.

Will have some money to spend this winter on a few bats.

Not good if Teheran isn't at near ace level. That was supposed to be one of the definites moving forward for the team.

I agree with your point. Things are really falling into place for them. As long as Harvey stays healthy I think the Mets are trending in the right direction though.

I agree, like I said I thought they were a year away otherwise so not far off. They have a great 1-2 punch in their starting rotation.

With the way he's pitching lately (something has to be wrong), I guess not even an 8 run lead with 7 innings to go might not be safe with Julio on the mound.

Freeman has produced this year but I feel he hasn't really been all that great. If he can get going like we all know he can then maybe the Braves have a shot at playing 500 baseball.

Flores is starting to look like a big league hitter (he's probably going have to move up SS at some point). Duda is a decent second-tier player and Campbell looks like he can play some. Lagares is our version of Simmons (whatever you get offensively is a bonus). Murphy can hit (isn't hitting now). It's an interesting line-up that can hurt you several ways, but admittedly could go really cold for an extended streak.
