And shows why sturg is such a useful idiot. The revolution wasn't started because of high taxes, it was started because of the Colonists wanting a say in Parlaiment. The rallying cry was no taxation without representation, not no taxation.
Taxes on the Colonists were lower than taxes in Britain. They were lower than taxes after the revolution if my math is right on conversions (Schilling in 1790 being worth about 9.2 USD now, while the dollar in that same conversion is worth about 33 dollars)

I thought you supported less taxes? Seems like you'd be against the revolution as it lead to significant increases in taxes and removed government control from the colonial governors and moved it to a central US government.
