Braves have activated Chris Martin off the IL and sent down Bryse Wilson
 
Ryu on the mound for jays, so fried gonna have to be great. Pretty sure ryu has gone like 75 scoreless innings in a row vs the braves... may be misremembering a little lol
 
Bowman: Soroka had some discomfort in his Achilles. They did a MRI and he'll now have to undergo exploratory surgery.

That is tough news to see. Now we're probably looking at...August? Best case? I guess if it's absolutely nothing it might not mess with his timetable too much, but that seems unlikely.

Caveat: I have absolutely no idea what exploratory surgery means, so it could be another Achilles repair for all I know.

So as someone who’s been cut into a lot I can tell you exploratory surgery means they’re doing surgery to see what’s going on. As good as all the medical imaging techniques out there are the best view is actually getting in there. If there is something really minor they may go ahead and clean it up while they’re there. If it’s something major a second surgery would probably be needed.
 
It was all good while the rest of the NL East wasn't playing well either. Mets have now won 7 in a row and creating separation
