5/13: GDT at Marlins

Bautista has not been missing by much, he looks like he's pretty close to getting his timing, and there's nothing wrong at all with the bat speed...will be interesting to see his ABs against Quintana tomorrow

Newcomb makes it stressful but he’s been pitching really well

I guess Miss and TheThe miss my backhanded stab.

They rail on Folty, who basically pitches the same way, better stuff and is shamed. He had one really bad game so they take out on him.

I like them both, they are both maddening but until they both do this to quality teams....it is a wait and see approach. You get to the playoffs, those walks are going to come home.

does he really have better stuff, or just more velo?

Sam Freeman does his job.

I'm guessing Winkler in the 8th to face the righties at the top of their lineup.

Chip: “Dietrich is out due to 1B being occupied, Rojas moves up 90 feet on the ball in the dirt, however, and that’s the 3rd out of the inning.”

Data does not support this opinion.

https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/stat...aunch_speed&sort_order=desc&min_abs=0#results

The Braves top 10 exit velocites are essentially Acuna, but after the top 10 hardest hit balls, the list is a nice mix of all the Braves hitters. Bautista checks in at #43 and #63.

He just isn’t good anymore, and he has faced a slew of LHed pitchers.

he may not be good anymore, we shall see... thanks for sharing the link - question: do calculations for exit velo include foul balls, or only balls in play?
