Folty’s breaking pitches surprised me in a bad way when I analyzed the arsenals of all the Braves pitchers. My eye test told me he had better stuff than he did. My eye test was wrong.

the blessing of speed. can make up for horrible route running. players like Binson may post plus defensive seasons but it will fade quickly. Ender is on the opposite end. meh speed but great route running. when you combine both is when you get special players like Andruw.

from what I see it changes game to game, like it does for almost everyone. His breaking stuff, at times, is truly elite. My view on Folty is that his stuff is elite when he's throwing his fastball 94-96, but it's actually pretty average (at times, worse than average) when he's 98-100

Nothing wrong with that.

Yes he has better stuff than Newcomb

....but like Newcomb they both have issue up in their head and when you walk a lot of people, good teams will make you pay.

Newcomb is taking advantage of pitching against bad teams that are not really good and he should, no issue with that.

Would I trust them in a 7th game against the Nats/Cubs/Cards/Dodgers or DBacks?

Hell no.

My problem is you both trash Folty who is just as capable as Newcomb and you call yourselves Braves fans. That is what is sad.
