The fact Swanson is hitting in front of Riley and Contreras tells me Snit has thrown in the towel on trying to be tactically sound.

Hopefully he doesn’t leave Davidson in too long.

Hopefully he doesn’t punt another 1-2 PAs in a close game.

Hopefully the Braves don’t lose a close game while their best BP arms sit idle on the bench.

Did Snit ever say why Swanson is hitting in front of Riley? I may have missed it. Motivational tactic? Confusing the enemy? The Lockhart files? Can someone dummy it down for me?

I'm predicting a big night by ozuna, like huge (3 extra base hits). It could be 4 Ks though... my magic 8 ball is unsure

If you are like me and think xwOBA is the best publicly available stat for revealing true talent and predicting future performance (.320 is roughly MLB average):

Acuña Jr., Ronald .460
Sandoval, Pablo .430
Contreras, William .421
Freeman, Freddie .406
Albies, Ozzie .375
Heredia, Guillermo .353
Riley, Austin .347
Ozuna, Marcell .339
Swanson, Dansby .319
d'Arnaud, Travis .314
Adrianza, Ehire .282
Pache, Cristian .196

The sample size for guys like Panda, Heredia and Contreras are too small to be meaningful (I set the minimum PAs low enough to include Conterera), but this is a pretty clear offensive ranking of the true talent on the roster.

First note should that the Braves are a very good offensive club with no regulars much worse than MLB average (though CF will likely be a problem).

Swanson should be batting 7th or 9th (with the pitcher batting 8th).

Ozuna is on the upswing, so I'm hesitant to call Riley better than him yet.

Pache was unfathomably bad and shouldn't see another MLB PA this year.

I'd like to see 14 pages of ceaseless bitching about how terrible the team is inexplicably followed by a picture of a bouncing elephant. And then look at box score to find the Braves won 5-1.

All the team has to do is give up a run in the 1st and score 5 in the 8th to get your wish.

Braves and leaving your best BP arms in the pen late. Name a more iconic duo.

Signature moves. Austin had the Stone Cold Stunner, Sheik the Camel Clutch, Nature Boy had the Figure-4 leg lock. Fredi had the Carpenter Crush and Snit’s got the Leverage Lariat.

For some reason, I can't pick up the Braves broadcast. That normally only happens during a local blackout when we're playing one of the Texas teams or St. Louis .

Anyone else having this issue? In the meantime, I'll have to listen to the Mets feed which isn't a bad consolation.
