Worth considering, IMO. We’re probably a a .500 or +1 with a better ‘pen and better management of same. But that’s not enough.

That team had all of the signs of luck correcting itself and breaking out. This team doesn’t. At least not on the pitching side.

And no, that team did not start 25-25. The last time they were at .500 was at 21-21.

I’m about ready to call it. It’s still early, but two months in is generally when you know what you’ve got. And we’re almost there. Teams like the 2019 Nationals and 2011 Cardinals don’t happen very often, so it’s not something you should count on.

He’s always been a high-K guy. As good as he was last year, he had a career-high K rate. But this year he’s bumped the K% and dropped the BB%. I know I’ve given him tons of ****, but as long as he’s playing good D we should be able to put him at the bottom of the order and enjoy his occasional heroics. But we can’t count on him to be a middle-of-the-order hitter. He’s just not that dude.

I’m going to get on board with expecting him to regress (progress?) towards his xBA number. But that still makes him a ~marginal hitter who can be a pleasant surprise at the bottom of the order but not a guy to count on.
Snit sounds pretty clueless in the postgame.

Again, yeah. I think we should be a LITTLE better, based on luck and umpiring, and Snit’s bullpen magic, etc. I don’t think we’re bad. But I do think we’re mediocre.

I'm very pissed about our last 3 losses, but I actually feel like we're still gonna be a good team. I think Morton mows down the Mets tomorrow and the braves take 3 from the pirates to end this week. I do wanna see a differently urgency from this team starting tomorrow though
