5/23... pirates game 2

I think the sample size is starting to push this offense into the relearn of maybe this is who they are now.

Flowers, Muk and Kemp still have unsustainably high BABIPs, but we can bank what they've given us so far. Even if the BABIP normalizes going forward, I think we're going to see that there is some genuine sustainable improvement for Flowers and Kemp. In the case of Flowers, a significantly lower strikeout rate. In the case of Kemp, the power looks real (helped by the ballpark) and I think his defense (probably also helped by the ballpark) will not be as big a negative as recent seasons. In the world I live in, less of a negative is a positive.

Think there has already been some regression for some, but looks like the expected improvement from Inciarte and Swanson is also coming to be.

The offense figures to be ok. Not great, but ok. And we have a good long sample to show that.

The real question is whether the starting pitching improves or not.

Starting pitching doesn't have to be great. One nice thing so far is the starters have been healthy. And we have a couple guys in AAA who can step in when the inevitable injury or two happens.

One would also expect Teheran to start making some adjustments to pitch better at home also with his experience and demeanor.
