Lots of uncertainty with this team. But if Anderson could steady his season, and we get a passable performance from Soroka, that makes the rotation so much deeper. Then factor in Yates and Matzek returning adding more depth to the pen that badly needs it at this point....
At the deadline, AA really needs to focus on a bat or two, plus an additional pen arm.
I refuse to believe that this team is as bad as we have been playing, but I don't believe that this is really a playoff team as it currently sits. Too much ups and downs from the offense. Mainly downs.

Soroka as an opener would be perfect bc it would limit his innings as they would be anyway. And like you said there’s nobody he could get that has the talent Soroka has at the deadline.

I think the bullpen is fine as is. A lot will depend on how Harris does between now and the deadline bc he would more than likely be one of the 2 bats for the OF. Rosario could come back strong after the eye surgery who knows. But I expect AA to target a bat that he can eat the contract on. Any guesses on who would be available?

I wonder if guys like Mullins or Reynolds would be available at a cheaper price if they continue to scuffle. I doubt it, but you never know.
