Perez looks like he has the appetite for pitching big when we need him to.

He also looks like the guy we need to eat innings to save the bullpen.
 
Thankfully the front office put an end to the Cahill-Stults experiment quickly. Perez and Folty are young, both have futures here, and are much better.
 
Perez' ERA is now 2.66 with seven innings of four hit shutout ball on 105 pitches. Not bad for a guy I'd never heard of two weeks ago.

That also includes his one terrible outing out of the bullpen. He came into tonight with a 1.64 ERA in his two starts. He's even improved on that tonight.
