#52 GDT 5/28: Braves (Floyd) at Red Sox , 7:05

I really have been surprised at how bad an OF BJ Upton is. I mean it's one thing to not hit but to be this bad defensively and not hit is crazy.

3 runs just feels like a huge deficit. I miss steroid ball in some ways. Maybe it's just the Braves offense.

don't think we've looked anywhere's near the best team in baseball at any point. Run differential is almost 0. Starting pitching was the best in baseball for a while, but that's ancient history now.

We were at the start of the year. The point is everybody fears the worst when the team isn't playing well and thinks that's the way it will continue. We've seen this the past few seasons and always ended up in a good spot at the end of the year. I feel this year will be no different and we'll win 90+ games.

We also have a much less stellar bullpen. It's not horrible, but it's not nearly as good, and we won a ton of games last year thanks to a great bullpen. Just because it's a lot of the same guys as last year doesn't make it the same team as last year.

Neither Upton has particularly good instincts in the outfield. I wish we'd put Heyward in CF.

3-0 Red Sox with Boston having runners on second and third. Hard to envision a realistic scenario that says this game isn't over.

Wood pitches out of it. Will we score four runs? Doubt it.

yeah, like Avilan. Its easy to forget how extremely good he was last year.

Good things cab happen when you put the ball in play. I wish more of our hitters understood this. This is the kind of situation that I expect Heyward to be huge in.
