6/10 Game 1 vs Mets...Sean Newcomb Day

Every right up ever has said the fastball is great. Nobody has called it straight. If he had a straight fastball he'd give up way more hrs

He's modulating his speeds. I don't know if it's two vs four seams, trying to throw strikes, nerves or anything else.

The change up is the key for him. If it's avg he's a stud. If it's not maybe the pen.

Great inning there from Newcomb. He's got the curveball going today. Loved the 94 high fastball to finish him

Pitchfx will tell us exactly how straight it is in short order

Zone seems large. And by large I mean consistent with the rules.

Some high strikes are called that are easy strikes but a lot of umps won't call

I think having a MLB catcher calling his pitches will (and is) making a difference in him. He could go eight innings right now with that low of a pitch count. He rarely gets out of the 5th on 100 pitches normally if I remember right.

Digging Newk so far, if he stays up how long will the Braves have him under control?

And that was a beautiful bunt by Santana!!

Having Flowers back there helps. He's one of the best at pitch framing.
