6/11/15: GDT - San Diego Padres @ Atlanta Braves

The production, from the RBIs and a batting average around .300, is why I haven't sweated the f'act he hasn't homered. Neck surgeries are nothing to play with, even afterwards. As long as he keeps producing the way he has been, I have no complaints. As he gets further from the surgery, the homers will come back.

The unfortunate thing is that the storms are nearly stationary even though they are small... hopefully they will move enough to get the game in and no new convection will fire over the stadium.

Just see Prince Fielder... it took him a while to get over his neck problem and now he's hitting with power fine again. Not that Markakis will hit anywhere near the level of power that Prince will, lol

But returning to the power he had last year is certainly doable.

This is interesting strategy by #Braves not to tell anybody anything about status of today's game. Maybe they're waiting for vote from Cobb.

As someone who's very much not a fan of the Braves' planned move out of actual Atlanta, I at least appreciate the spirit of the quip, if not the execution.

Hey @ATLHawks, can we borrow your roof?

Sorry, under maintenance. Team blew it off this season.

Lol that's awesome.

It's really pretty impressive how well he's done just plinking the ball around.

On the other hand, as good as he's been, that flatlined iso power means that he's always a slump away from being a liability, considering the defense, et al. Still, more, er, power to him.

You nailed both aspects of the Markiliad—but the bolded sentence is key. It's not that Markakis can't be productive without power; it's just that, given his skillset, it'll be harder to maintain productivity if his average slumps (even despite his very good walk-rate).
