6/14/15 GDT: Braves (Foltynewicz) @ Mets (Gee)

Folty will get it together before too long.Im 35 and remember when Smoltzie got drilled for a year and a half before getting it..There has been a lot of power arms that got shelled that turned out to be pretty good like Smoltz,Randy Johnson etc.i know it's hard to watch but I think you have to let him take his lumps and learn.if he's still getting drilled after another 3-4 starts then you send him back down..I mean let's not kid ourselfs the front office pretty much threw this year away when we traded away our entire bullpen..

We were sold a bill of goods that included Melvin/EY in CF, Callaspo at 2B until Peraza was called up, CJ at 3B, and Gomes in LF.

We were also told that Peterson wasn't good and that Markakis would be a disaster. Players surprise every year bylut we were told that because a heyward and Upton were traded this team had no shot.

One can believe that, say it in a constructive way, and in fact be making a positive contribution to the board.

Reflexive negativity is annoying. For my part, though, I'm finding the winning GDTs often as annoying as the losing ones.

I remember a lot of posters worrying about the length of the contract and not the short term. I remember you being critical of Markakis. Are you just associated with team "winning" now?

Peterson came out of left field. That's awesome. We don't see very many Peterson isn't good posts any longer.

But at the end of the day the Braves still aren't very good, even if everyone maintains their current pace. Take pride in mocking everyone when they aren't exactly being proven wrong.

To be honest, I still think this team has no shot.

However, even though I didn't like the previous offseason, I'm trying to enjoy the team on the field this year, win or (more often) lose, and give this whole "new future" thing a shot. That good-faith effort is made a whole hell of a lot more difficult by the rah-rah, look-at-me-now-dad, how-I-learned-to-stop-worrying-and-love-the-party-line "victory lap" crap to which Julio alluded.
 
I'm all about Folty getting his lumps...but it's its coming at a hefty price. This weak bullpen doesn't cater to a rookie taking his lumps.
