Another power prospect?

Risking further scorn and derisiion from the unwashed, I wanted to point out another rare display of power in the farm system.

Carlos Castro, a 22-year-old first baseman at Rome, hit a pair of homers Friday to give him six in his first 20 games this season. The 6-1, 195 Dominican is actually listed on the roster as a catcher, but he was moved up from Danville when Juan Yepez went on the DL and has supplied power in a Rome lilneup where little existed before. Austin Riley, they more heralded power prospect on the team, has only 3 homers in 61 games.

Castro is still hitting sub-.200, but power is where you find it. Just reporting the facts. Don't hate me.

Somewhat surprised it wasn't Whalen that moved up. He's pitching a bit better of late, and it's Whalen that we need to make the 40-man roster decision on this Fall.

I think the Braves have bigger plans for Ellis than Whalen.

Dustin Peterson had one of the best at-bats I've ever seen. 15 pitch at bat and then gets a single.

Brad Roney has been fantastic out of the pen in his rookie year for me in my Out of the Park franchise. Im sure everyone wanted to know that though. haha.

really enjoyed the Mississippi game tonight...

Swanson had a great play in the field, and he either struck out or got a hit... but cool to see him..
I really liked every at bat for D. Peterson.. just a battler.. also had a nice try to take a hit away in left. All around enjoyed watching him. he really interacted with his team..

Morris had a nasty slider/curve.. his FB topped out at 90.. thought he could bring it more.. but over all he kept everyone off balance... like him..

Hursh is a big dude.. seemed to pitch pretty well.

Willians is a spark plug.. does nothing but hit line drives.. hustles every play and is liked by his team. I really think he will move up soon...
