6/2 GDT vs Nationals

I don't know about you guys, but the way we came limping into this series, especially from a hitting point of view, I would have been happy with a split. We could have easily been swept in 4 games by the Mets, and that could have carried over into this series. Glad we won the first two, should have won yesterday but bats were non existent yet again, and now today is gravy. After this, we can start beating up on some bad teams and really have some fun.

After today, our next 20 games are vs teams with losing records. If we truly are a contender, we need to make hay here

Dodgers are scorching hot and we face their top 3 guys, and the way our offense has been lately, that wont be an easy series.

But we need to take advantage of this month though, seems the first 2 months we've been facing stud teams with elite pitching every series.

The bigger issue with Winkler/Viz is if they're not gonna pitch, is why take out McCarthy at 84 pitches when he's throwing well minus the MAT HR.

THIS THIS THIS. He crippled our bullpen in a close game. Just silly management. It’s only one game, but this junk happens all the time with Snit.

And the double switch to make us weaker at 2 positions. Taking Swanson out at SS led to scherzer hit

What do the Nats do with Soto once eaton is back? Soto is playing well...

.349/.429/.558 12.2 bb, 18.4 k

Really outperformed acuna so far...
.265/.326/.453 7.8 bb, 28.7 k

Small sample size. Acuna had similiar stats after the number of at bats Soto has had.

Could make the argument they should let Harper walk, and make a run at Machado instead.

Nats have a glut of outfielders even without Harper next year: Soto, Robles, Eaton, Taylor, and Goodwin.

True. Soto has 49 PA. Here are acuna's through 49 PA...

.326/.367/.565 6.1 bb, 18.4 k .371 BABIP

Soto...
.349/.429/.558 12.2 bb, 18.4 k .406 BABIP

So essentially the only difference is Soto walks twice as much and has a little better BABIP. Both are bad defensively

Same lineup again for the most part, day off on Thursday but even still.

Two decisions questioned before they had negative ramifications—one ahead of time, one right when it was made—which makes them seem even more egregious.

I've been saying that for a while. Outside of what Machado would mean on the field, it would be big move in the war over fans in the Delmarva area.

Move Turner to second, then have some flexibility to shift Machado back to the corner if Rendon leaves as FA?
