6/27/15: GDT - Atlanta Braves @ Pittsburgh Pirates

Russ Ortiz averaged 18 wins and over 200 innings per year for the Braves and people couldn't wait to get rid of him.

Might have had something to do with his ERA being close to 4

As for under appreciated Braves. #1 is Andruw hands down.

Just said he was in the running. If all you did was look at this board you would think Nick is the worst player in baseball. All he does is get hits and get on base.

Sooooo... If the game is postponed do Teheran's stats count? I was under the impression the game just restarts if before the 5th inning.

Don't buy that Julio's not hurt. His season went haywire after the knee thing (forgot what happened exactly. He's not this bad

Yep. Should get a nice return for Grilli.

I agree that we should get a nice return if he is moved. Here's my question.. Are we better off holding on to Grilli for what seems to be a decent bargain for next season ($3.5 million) and a $3 million club option for 2017? The reason I'm saying this is because A.) We don't seem to have a closer in the minors B.) the ones who could fill that role are coming off of injuries (Withrow, Viz, Simmons) C.) there aren't any viable options on the Free Agent market next offseason (both Greg Holland and Kenley Jansen become free agents in 2017)

Just another thing to consider, I would still trade him IF the return is higher than it should be.

What does everyone think? And if you do think we trade him no matter what, how/who do we get to fill closer role next year (when honestly, we should be competitive especially if we get a power hitting LF)

markakis' prob is that he's got 3 years and 33 million left.

And if we had terdo out there maybe we'd be in the mix for a top 10 pick......although i'm not a big fan of the total tank idea.
