7/13 WEDNESDAY'S MINOR THREAD: Anderson, Harrington debut

Good lord... Really? I just mention that Lewis is really hot lately and everyone loses their freaking mind. Even when I said I loved what we did in our draft. I don't know if I would have picked Lewis either... it's called observation and discussion on a freaking Internet message board... You know? Where discussion is the whole point.

No, what made people "lose their mind" was that someone(not you) has already decided we made a mistake picking Anderson instead of Lewis based on what Lewis is doing in the rookie league.

Good grief.

Why can't we keep tabs on somebody that we had interest in?

Does that mean I can't also cheer for Anderson/Wentz/Muller??

I still pay attention to Kimbrel, and yet I also somehow cheer for Viz.... weird.

My comment wasn't directed at you but since you chimed it I guess it was for you smh!

Yes... I'm sure we have more depth but who wouldn't swap our system for theirs?

I would swap, but it would be begrudgingly. I'm enthralled by the talent we have in the lower levels and there's no other system I'd trade spots with besides the BoSox.

I honestly wouldn't, given budget and all. We have a ton of high-ceiling talent, it's just young. We're at stage 2 or so, they're at stage 5. But in a year or two, our system could absolutely dwarf what they have now. Some may call me a homer for that, but it's what I believe.

I wouldn't either, simply because our team has so many holes that need to be filled. If we were 3-4 players away from competing I would definitely rather have the Red Sox system, but we are more like 10-12 players away. We need that depth.

It's the typical downplaying of a prospect that isn't on the Braves as usual, and you know it. Swanson started at the same level, and when the Braves acquired him after playing at that level folks were overjoyed. Lewis is doing well in the same league, while being a year younger than Swanson, and the response is, "well he should be doing well at that level".

Sorry if you can't see the hypocrisy, and I'm sorry if it bothers you when I point it out.

Keith Law said today that he thinks he would at best be a low average guy with power - not an all star.

Which if he makes the MLB with is fine. But fine isn't really what some of you were looking for from him and its not really what you like to see with the #3 pick.

Regardless, the Braves didn't like him much and didn't draft him. If one day he makes the majors and sticks it to them, then I guess some folks can say I told you so. But what doing well in rookie ball has to do with that, I don't know.

I think he brings good analysis, but Keith Law has been wrong or way off on many a prospect, including our own Freddie Freeman.

But I agree with your last comment, way too early to tell or say anything about him till he and Anderson get up to the majors. However, that's not going to stop me from watching his career with interest.

just timely report. I'm not sure what I think about Keith Law.
