Camargo in, Swanson out.

We are seeing just how stone aged Braves management is as they buy into Camargo's unsustainable BABIP.

I could tell Snit was falling in love with Camargo. Every manager seems to have a favorite.

Jesus, man. Swanson, barring an injury, needs to be playing. This is really dumb.

But, glad baseball is back!

My guess is that they are trying to squeeze as much playing time for Phillips and Adams as possible before July 31 just to show contenders that they can contribute for their team yet also play Camargo with his impossible to keep up BABIP. This should not be at the expense of Swanson. He's had four days to rest and clear his head, so get him out there as soon as possible. Camargo is a nice bench piece, so don't make him out to be more than what he is.

I suppose this means they didn't fire the guy who thought giving Chris Johnson a $30M extension was a good idea.

I'm guessing Camargo plays third and Adams sits against lefties. We are scheduled to face 3 lefties in our next six games. But I do think Camargo playing tonight provides an interesting view into Snit's heart/brain/soul. I would guess he is more annoyed at Swanson's defensive inconsistency than his problems at the plate.

yeah.. I think Game7 is going to ride Jo-Gun until he wares his butt into the ground. Jo-gun at 3rd/ SS short/BP 2nd/ FF 1st against lefties.. What we see tonight against righties.

I'm glad for Camargo and I'm generally bearish on Swanson's upside, but I think Dansby needs to be in the lineup. It's not time to play Fredi/Constanza hot-hand games. If Swanson is the future, he needs to be getting the reps.

Constanza over Heyward is exactly what's happening here all over again.

you beat me to the Constanza reference...gmta

I wouldn't say exactly...I think there is a non-trivial chance Camargo turns out to be a better player than Swanson...not over 50% but non-trivial

I'm thinking this but Swanson still needs to play 95% of the games the rest of the way.

The thing I find kind of scary about playing Camargo over Dansby at this point is that they're going with the hot hand that they know is almost certainly a smaller part of the future than Dansby. Unless they're trying to get Camargo some exposure so they can trade him (doubtful), this means they're sacrificing player development to win now. Not something I want to see.

And I don't blame Snit for doing this. A win now approach is an organizational decision.

Snit is managing for his job in 2018. It absolutely behooves him to play for 2017, despite the organization playing for 2018 and beyond.

Just another inconsistency in the rebuild.

It behooves him to do what the decision makers want. I expect the message from the top is that we're still in this and we need to do anything we can to win.
