7/16 SATURDAY GDT: Do Rockies continue to make Braves their beeyatch?

Totally kidding.

Honestly, given the low bar for catchers in the HoF, AJ's 2000 plus hits, .280 something average, 400 doubles, a WS ring, a couple of All-Star appearances, and a Silver Slugger might be enough. In that light, I wouldn't be totally shocked if he got in. First ballot depends on his competition that year.

Why do they consistently call Folty's perfect strikes on the corner wrong? It's been consistently called wrong all night

Folty got screwed on an absolutely perfect strike three pitch. He needs, however, to quit acting petulant on the mound as it accomplishes nothing except to take him out of his game.

Folty got screwed on a call that resulted in a walk. He was visibly pissed. Let's see if he can focus on the next hitter.

I'm sorry, but umpires need to be held accountable. I understand close calls, but that crap wasn't close, IT WAS EASILY a strike. Pitchers work their whole lives to be able to make that perfect pitch. If they throw it, call it. This goes for anyone.

Has AJ always been so fundamentally bad at blocking pitches or has he just gotten lazy as he's gotten older? No excuse for letting that one by him.

His going blind hasn't helped, if you think not how do you explain all his missed catches on throws and a lot of pop ups this year? The same thing is in play here but they won't say so because AJP is a favorite to be protected. If his name were Bethancourt or Gattis before him, we'd never hear the end of it.
