7/20... 2nd half begins - Nats game 1

I want everyone to remember all this excitement over Acuna batting leadoff after 5 innings. I’ll bring it up when everyone is bitching about it at some point in a couple weeks haha.

You have the board figured out. But I wonder if how many games this year have the Braves gotten a better leadoff showing?

Sanchez slow change-up and curve in key spots seems to be key to his success this year. I don't remember him using it like this last year. Then again he was also on a losing team and had a terrible year as well. Of course, he still has to get ahead with his fastball first and he is doing that much more this year too.

Guys I just looked Bryce Harper up on baseball-reference and wanna guess what his bWAR is?? Anybody??? Just take a whack at it. He has had a down year so it has to be in like the 1-2 WAR range right? Try 0.1 wins above replacement. He has been one tenth of a win better than a replacement level player this year. Jace Peterson has twice as much bWAR as Bryce Harper at the moment. Let that sink in lol

To be completely fair Fangraphs has him at 1.2 fWAR, but still... The guy has not been very good at all this year, especially defensively. He has not business playing Center Field like, ever.

I wonder what this year will do to his going rate on the market? I can't imagine that it will effect it TOO much, but he can probably forget a 400+ million dollar contract.

Albies in the Chicago icy game was 3-5 with 4 RBI with a HR (and bloop double). He had a few nice games, problem is, he went absolutely frigid there.

I'm very interested in how Acuna's new stance turns out. Promising start, but still early.

Edit: That's not to say that I buy certain spots in the order doing anything for hitters. I wouldn't have minded trying him again there.

He's in a place where a one-year deal with Washington isn't out of the question.

Surprised to see Sanchez leading off as I figured with 94 pitches he would be done after this inning. I guess we'll have to just wait until later in the game for our first Sam Freeman sighting after the All-Star break.
