7/20... 2nd half begins - Nats game 1

Oh, I think he has the job for the foreseeable future. I just worry that the stick side of his game doesn’t seem to be improving.

Wow...credit to Snitker. I'm surprised he let him hit. Maybe if next inning is easy too you let him finish but probably not, rather him be available for the rest of the weekend.

And wow, Acuna. I'll be happy to be wrong on my "can't completely have nice things" thing.

Yes, he had a terrible year last year in both AAA and minors until the playoffs where he took off. Bottom line is he is a better hitter now and like Swanson he is above average defensively at short.

I think good chance he turns into a pumpkin. But I hope not.

I am
And SS and CF are the positions you can live with.

But Culbertson can defend and apparently camargos has improved as well. Worth bringing on Moose for the bat upgrade?

Definitely a different calculus if you’re talking about upgrading the infield rotation from outside the organization. But as is I see nobody on the roster who’d legitimately upgrade Camargo/Swanson as the regular 3B/SS.

Agreed.

But I've about given up on Dansby ever becoming an above average hitter

Kinda like having the multi inning Dominant reliever threat

Yeah, why I was talking next year. If I remember, he was drafted to be a starter by the Phils right?

Maybe we won’t need a starter by then, but he sure seems to be getting stronger as he goes.

I expect so if he sits too long but if he gets to start I think he could continue to out hit Swanson. But so could Camargo and he might play more at short should we trade for Moose or Beltre. However, Camargo is a drop off in defense at short whereas Culberson would be about the same as Swanson.

Certainly doesn't look good right now. As it stands Swanson will be that guy you ride until he starts getting expensive as long as he continues to play plus defense.
