7/26 GDT: Atlanta Braves (48-51) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (57-43)

I'm not a big Kemp hater like some in here. I still think he's a great player but I will say this about him.... He reminds me of how Mark Teixiera was with us. Teixiera had good numbers but it seemed like all his homers and when he drove in runs were in non-clutch situations. Kemp seems to be the same way.... Doesn't ever seem to deliver in the clutch. It's always in a non pressure situation.
 
Early in the game I was going to point out that it appears that Blair is loading the ball -spitting in his glove and wiping his hand on the back of his hair.

At this point, I'm going to write that off as coincidence...

Kemp/Neck combined fWAR - 0.1

Batting 4th/5th respectively...playing the hot hand though I guess

There is literally no team in baseball (except the Braves) dumb enough to take on any of his contract. He is a negative player and will only get worse from here on out. We will have to give him away for free.

To illustrate this - I'm certain will put him on waivers, and nobody will claim him

LOL no team is taking Kemp at $9M per year.

The Braves are going to be paying all of Kemp's salary (or an equivalent dead contract) whether he is on the roster or not.

Slash his innings spent hobbling around LF by 10% with intelligent defensive substitutions and I bet he produces much more offensively over the course of the season.
 
This is the type of game where you need to take Kemp out. Unless the Braves come back in the top of the 7th, take him out. Of course, Snit the Twit already used Santana, and why replace hobbled Kemp with hobbled Markakis?
 
Yes, let's use and abuse one of the better pitchers in a bullpen right now to where he may not be available Friday and Saturday in a likely lost game while we are saving our trash. I know Morris has only thrown 3 pitches the last few days, but keep it easy on him. Snit the Twit.

100% agree. I would take this one step more and plan on a Kemp / Markakis platoon in LF next year. Sign a cheap place holder for RF until Acuna is ready.
