7/28: Dodgers game 3

To what extent is his lack of fastball movement "fixable?"

I’ve never heard of a guy increasing his spin rate.

I long ago suggested he take advantage of his low spin rate and adopt a sinker. There was some evidence he was doing exactly that, and that sinker appeared average or better.

I am very interested to see if the sinker sticks around, because Fried with an average sinker, that nasty curve, and average command is a legit #3.

There's been nothing really hit hard yet. It's not BABIP gods today, it's plain ole' suckiness today.

Only thing that was bad luck was Culberson's ball not getting out, and even that wasn't hit that hard.

Edit: Nevermind, Camargo did just hit something hard. But that shows why you don't hit the ball on the ground.

Didn't the whole Astro staff increase their spin rate? Thought that was why the Indian pitched threw a tantrum

Joe just did a five-minute monologue on how unprofessional and disrespectful the Dodgers are for letting players take BP out of uniform.

What's the score? I'm at the Neshoba county fair, and data only works well enough to check message board... At bat won't load

Shouldn't let Fried stay in much longer. I don't think he threw more than 90 pitches in his rehab starts.

I'm hoping for a rally to get going, because I'd lift Fried here. If not, he might be allowed to bat, which is probably a mistake.
