Snit felt he gave Ozuna 2 months to figure it out in 2023 and it paid off. So now he feels he can do the same thing.

In a lost season it really doesn't matter though. AA is gonna dump all the expiring contracts he can. Ozuna flaming out has no bearing on the 2026 team other than being removed as an option to be the DH.
Murphy could very well be gone at the deadline too so no need to expose him to extra risk between now and the trade deadline.

If the goal is to maximize value of the players likely to be traded then the correct play is to let Ozuna try to snap out of it. Resting him only makes sense if the hip is still bothering him, which it supposedly isn’t.
Winning ballgames means nothing, and Murphy is already as valuable as he’s going to get, so the correct move is to give Ozuna the chance to get his value back up.
Now, that’s not the reason snit is playing him every single day, but it’s nice that snit being a moron actually results in the correct move being made. It doesn’t work out that way often, so I smile when it does.
