7/5 GDT: Houston Astros (57-27) vs. Atlanta Braves (40-42); Dansby's Day Off Edition

Judging from the look from the bullpen on Camargo's fly out, Snitker also has Ramirez warming up alongside Wisler. Can't wait for the impending Tommy John from Ramirez after Snitker destroys his arm.

Watching these games against the Astros reminds me of the 80s when we'd play teams like the Dodgers, Cardinals, or Mets and feeling like "why bother?"

Houston is a real good team. Right now, I'd say the best in the majors.

Their lineup doesn't give you room to breathe. They have 34 hits in a two game series with four outs remaining.

EDIT: make it 35 hits with three outs remaining. I'm getting dizzy watching them run around the bases.

Hopefully not as many opposing team fans filling the stadium these days as there were then, I can remember going to see us in the mid 80s and the stadium being filled will Mets fans when they had Strawberry and Gooden.

At least we are extremely close to being a borderline playoff team now (assuming we get rid of Snitker), even if series like this make it seem otherwise.

If Keuchel and McCullers can stay healthy they are going to be extremely tough. If they make a trade for someone like Archer or another good #2/#3 starter type they are going to steamroll people with this lineup.

The Astros are having a year like the Cubs did last year. Everything they do goes right. Their best two pitchers have been on DL and every warm body they put on the mound pitches like an ace. I like the Astros lineup more than the Cubs and it will be interesting to see if the Astros can avoid pitching problems likes the Cubs are having now.

I hope the past two games help the FO realize the Braves are not close to being an elite team and this keeps them on the course of playing for the future.

4 runs again tonight and entered the night 20th in runs scored at 4.56. Cards were 21st and 4.54 runs per game and scored 6 tonight. Could be sitting at 21st tomorrow.

Kemp also down to a 852 and 121 WRC+. Not looking good for him at all. At this rate we could be looking at Padre level numbers.
