7/6 Braves vs Bastard Phils

Schwelly is legit. He’s getting lots of whiffs, strong K/BB, deep arsenal. To be this talented/good with such limited experience bodes well for his future. He’s been unlucky results wise. He should be untouchable. Waldrep is the guy to trade if teams are high on. I think AJSS has more ability to dream on.

People don't understand how uncanny it is for this guy with his experience level to be throwing 5 pitches in the majors with his level of control. I can see his stuff improving and developing top tier accuracy with his pitches. AJSS is a freak of nature for the same reason but SS has even significantly less experience pitching. SS was also a SS in college I believe so he should play plus defense. All that combines into a damn good prospects I think can only be derailed by injury.

As for Waldrep. I think he can be a good closer. Some people think that's an insult but having a cheap young closer would save the team a fortune. Let him develop 1 year in a setup role then let Iglesias go after 2025.

Premature, I know, but some stabilization from Schwellenbach, and the potential return of once promising AJSS, and Ian Anderson should provide at least one, possibly two useful pitchers.

We have been critical, but the strategy of giving everyone extra rest much of the time could end up being huge in the second half, and playoffs.

The Braves have sacrificed some wins in their efforts to extend the pitching staff, but it could pay off big time late in the season.

I dont think a SP is a priority at this point. SS will be just fine in the 5th spot. Just focus on getting as good of an OF as you can and if a SS ugrade comes along then thats fine too.

SS savant page is getting better. He now has three above average pitches. Splitter/Slider/sinker. Dropped his flat 4 seamer % so it is more effective as a surprise me pitch. Has a great whiff rate too.

Like I said. If he can still keep learning pitch combos and usages while improving control he could become a nice rotation piece moving forward. I really like this kid.
