They have to stop his OPS from getting so low he has less trade value than when they acquired him.

Sitting him vs Gio is a good start.

It's a weather delay for a storm that won't arrive until 90 minutes after the original game time. Something tells me that the Nationals don't want this to become a bullpen game in the 4th/5th inning.

If this game ever gets started, it's looking like a west coast start time of 10 or later.

Yep. They cut to the Atlanta announcers a few minutes ago and Joe Simpson was irate about it.

Mallex just got another hit. This time off sale.

ETA... steals 2b

The Braves Way emphasizes pitching. But it also is fairly traditional in the importance it attaches to having "middle of the order bats" for the middle of the order. They were willing to overlook a lot of red flags in seeking out HO and Kemp as middle of the order type bats. I suspect if you asked them today they would say the team is better off with Kemp rather than Mallex in left. And I'm talking about better off in 2017 in terms of wins and losses. Not a more encompassing definition that included contract, years of control, etc. I think in the narrow sense of whether the 2017 team wins more games with Kemp or Mallex in left they would choose Kemp.

Adding his Japan League hits (1278), Ichiro now has . . . 4330 total hits in professional baseball.

Pete Rose ---4256
Ty Cobb - -- 4189
Hank Aaron -3771

Carry on.

Mallex is not better than Kemp. Braves really got Kemp for a discount rate. Luiz Gohara was a nice pickup that hopefully will be in ATL soon. We really have to wait to see who won this trade and was it the right move.
