7/7 gdt: gnats

The main problem with the pen this year is that both Johnson and Viz have shown significant loss of effectiveness when asked to pitch consecutive days. The best solution is to make greater use of the other relievers in high leverage situations when Johnson and Viz have gone the night before.
 
Not sure if you can overstate how bad of a loss that was. Washington is beatable this year.

I hope they have to sell everyone one of their top prospects to get a decent pen. Hell, they may be desperate enough to bite on JJ and motte.

nope we aren't.. but I will enjoy watching them get blasted out of the playoffs again.. They can trade more of their future to try to win it this year, or stand pat and probably not make it out of the first round.
 
Dusty rode Scherzer pretty hard last night. I understand the problems with the pen. But a more far-sighted manager would not do what he did last night.
