Randy Ventura (.391) has played in 24 games thus far in his pro career. He has hits in 23 of them, including the last 19 straight. He stole five bases in his third game and has gone on to steal 29 in 24 games (out of 33 attempts). In Wednesday's game, he also had two outfield assists and has a several. He's a 5-9 switch hitter and is about to break through to the top 30 prospects. As far as progress, he had only one XBH in his first 16 games, and have five in his last eight. He's a 17-year-old Dominican.

You know, as far as offensive prospects stepping out from the pack we really haven't had a whole lot to talk about. Albies and Peraza aside, there hasn't been much.

We still need lots of help in this area....badly.
 
Are the braves specializing in sub 5'10 slap hitters with speed? I know he's 17 and can grow. Maybe that's the size of guy who's playing baseball these days.

I don't know that he's a full on slap hitter. Obviously there's not much power there right now, but we don't really know what his approach is. There have been plenty of guys 5'10" and under who are legit hitters. Just have to wait and see.

Cameron Maybin's former high school teammate Justin Jackson notched his first Save with the Braves organization for Carolina yesterday.
