8/14/15 DBacks @ BRAVES

Oh not this again please.

Hopefully tonight and his recent good games will start to bring back trade interest in him. I think it's just a matter of time till he's dealt as long as a team will take his contract. So it would be best for him to do well enough to get us back a better return than just salary relief.

At his current one for 13 pace on a team that struggles offensively like we do, we simply can't have two pitchers' batting averages in the lineup.

I'd probably release him once Freeman and Olivera are ready personally. I just don't think he has enough left in the tank after the two knee surgeries, etc.

I don't know about you but I'd be lying if I said I'm not at least a little bit worried about Freeman coming back effectively this year. It seems like we may have rushed him back a little bit early from his last DL stint and are paying for it now.

It's a different injury, maybe caused by subconsciously protecting the wrist, maybe not. Obliques happen out of the blue too. It's better not to speculate where you can't know. Freeman being on the DL is no big deal anyway.

Agreed that it's pure speculation but I think most of us suspect exactly what you stated--whether true or not. You're also correct that obliques are a true "wild card" type of injury. Didn't McCann miss an inordinate of time with an oblique injury that seemed to take forever to heal?

I wouldn't DFA swisher until at least next ST. It's not like we're fighting for a playoff spot or something.

Is it swisher's knee or his knees? If it's a knee, i wonder if we can repair it with surgery. 2 years ago he hit 22 hr's with a .341 obp. I certainly don't wanna hold him if he doesn't turn it around, but I'd at least give him till ST

Crowd of 32K at the Ted. Not bad for a team that's realistically out of contention.

When does school start in Atlanta?

I thought Lardsma was going to solidify our top ten pick status, but he wriggled off the hook. Vizcaino is surely pitching well.

Great job by Viz again tonight, he's been very good since coming back up after his suspension. If he continues this he should close for us next year IMO.

Fredi deservedly gets some crap for his managing positions, especially with the pitching staff, but I thought he did a good job pulling Teheran after 6. He's sent Julio out a few times this year with a lead despite a high pitch count only to see him fall apart. Solid, judicious use of Julio tonight.

Yes, but he still went for the win by using Aardvark for 2 innigs.
