8/15/2015: GDT Braves vs D-Backs, Game 2 of 3

The Diamondbacks have been hitting lights out lately. It's not surprising they are teeing off on Folty.

I have heard Brett Anderson as a possible target for us and given his ground-ball rates that makes some sense. But he'll get a QO so we must have a protected pick to sign him. Further, I don't like him near as much as I like Kazmir though.

Both are too much of an injury risk (as compared to other available options) for us to invest in and potentially lose a 2nd round pick.

Unless they got an elite hitting prospect/player back, and/or signed one of the FA aces, makes no sense.

Hart and co. may believe Teheran is on the decline and/or possible injury risk (a la Wood). Plus there has a been a huge purge of Braves under Wren and co. for Hart and co. bringing in their own. All of this combined might not be done.

Why is Scott Kazmir too much of an injury risk? He has been healthy for years now and his velocity is very good, etc.

Man, Garcia just missed a two run homer. He continues to make me look good for arguing to call him up as long as I did (and pissing on Bowman's take on his defense). It's also good to see Maybin stay hot.

Just this year he's had a start skipped because of his shoulder, had trouble with his triceps that caused him to leave a start early and skip a second start, not to mention his previous injury history.

I'm saying if you're going to invest money and a draft pick in someone, I would want him to be as healthy as possible.

Kimbrel missed a whole week due to his shoulder, I didn't take Kazmir being skipped as serious but more playing it safe with a trade chip. But lots of starters miss some time or come out early in games. If that makes them more injury risks there are a lot of injury risks in that case. Further, I didn't argue your point on Anderson because I agree he is more of a risk. They all are potential risks and yes years ago Kazmir was among that list but he's been relatively healthy for three years or so now. Plus Kazmir is good enough to give up a non-1st rounder if he can be signed to a reasonable contract.

That was a really bad pitch, so I will need to see more solid contact for my opinion on him to change.

Yeah, I'm certainly not expecting much. I will say though that not many of our guys would've put that mistake out of the park... We need that
