8/25/13 vs St.Louis Red Turds

Dan is obviously the better hitter. What are you trying to imply? Are you saying BJ will turn it around? Please enlighten me because you obviously think BJ is contributing or will contribute.

Right, I said BJ is contributing.
Dan is 33. BJ is 29. I think BJ is more likely to go back to career norms than Uggla is.
Schafer has a .628 career OPS. As a full-time starter, who will be better the rest of the year between he and BJ is a toss up. But yes, since we are paying BJ 15 mil and has proven to be a better player throughout their careers, I'd rather let BJ try and work out of it and continue to use Schafer off the bench, where he has some value.

The Braves announcers keep raving about how well Molina calls games, and how no pitcher would ever shake him off, but it looks like he is getting the calls from the dugout. Both today and last night, he seems to be looking into the dugout before giving the signs every time.

Has anybody else noticed that?

These Cardinals announcers are brutal to listen to. I'd much rather be listening to Smoltz on TBS, but living in the St. Louis viewing area creates a blackout. I hate blackouts. What is the reason behind them and are they effective?

Yeah. I was talking about for HGH.

?
PEDs are PEDs, what does it matter which one it is?
Schafer never got suspended for using HGH. They didn't test for it. Therefore he cannot get suspended for using it. He got suspended for buying it or having a connection to a dealer. Schafer never failed a test for ANY PEDs. A-Rod did. I'm not sure I get your point.

I was responding to someone saying he never failed a test for HGH.

When Schafer left for the Astros, just about everyone around here called him a cheater. Now that he is back, he isn't? Is that right?

Oh I'm sure he used it, I'm just saying he didn't get suspended for using it, just a connection to it.

Dan was roughly the same age though when he got here and was also terrible like BJ except he had a monster second half of the season but even when Dan was terrible that first half of the season he still was hitting for power. B.J has only hit for an ops over .800 once in his career and that was when he was 23 and hasn't came close to a season as good as that since. He also had a year in 2009 where he was horrible with an ops below .700. BJ also had a very low amount of walks last year and his career numbers are anything but consistent. He's had really good years, average years and piss poor years. He's a guy who is vastly over paid and has a terrible contract and that's not his fault but I also question his heart and determination.

Is Smoltz the answer to the question?

I was worried coming into the season seeing BJ's career average and some years and wondering if he was overpaid and hoping he would have a good year. I was not expecting anywhere as bad as he has been.
