8-26 Gameday Thread- Rio Grande our PHing savior

Good win, and a much needed day off Monday after 22 straight games played.
 
Nats' offense struggled worse than us this weekend until the 8th and 9th today. They scored 14 in those 2 innings. Hopefully their offense is in top gear now going into philly
 
Mega positive takeaways-
Last week of August- we are three games up. Who in the hell ever dreamed of that?
The nationals are dead. Who in the hell ever dreamed of that ?
We had a very good road trip- normally .500 roadtrips are considered huge successes... this was much better.
We have a day off tomorrow, and we are going to need it. Short flight, nearly 45 hours until we need to be at the park.
Acuna looks amazing.
Ozzie showing some plate discipline.
Finally have Rio back.
Threw a two hitter.
Pitching has been incredible.
Despite a mega offensive slump, we still had a great trip. Survived and didn't lose any ground. We'll get hot again. Much rather slump against the crap teams on our schedule and win some low scoring games now.
Competition- and crowds - will be much bigger - we seem to play up to the moment... see cards series and nats ..at yankee stadium...earlier this year for example...
Knock on wood- we are healthy...
BP is rested...
Dansby seems to be coming around..
Julio kicks ass late in the year- he is on the hump Tuesday
Grateful dead show tonight is free streaming with live video
First day of school is tomorrow- I can get some damn work done again

he used to post about Gattis' knees...he was a highly specialized poster back then...now he's more of an all arounder as they say in cricket

He's a starter though. He's made a lot of quality starts for us the last few weeks. I'm worried though since he's close to arbitration. I mean 4.5 years in between productive posting seasons. Small market forum like us simply can't afford to keep him long-term. If I can flip him for a package that includes more young pitching that can develop into starters isn't that the right move?

starter or opener?
 
5-2 this week scoring 19 runs total. That's 90's Braves right there. Another big week coming up against some depleted teams. We need to keep it going and then try to survive the Bos/Dbacks/Giants.

I don't know if I'd call the rays and cubs depleted. TB on an 8-game winning streak and cubs on a 5-game winning streak. Pirates do seem to be done
