our pen has been good, Blevins hadn't pitched in like forever though and made a bad pitch there. maybe rusty from sitting so long or just a bad day.

Our pen's given up like 4 runs in the last 13 games, and 3 of those came today.

The pen has been fine. McMahon just got barrel on the ball there, offense is more to blame today than the bullpen, likely a win if they score more than 1 run in the first 9 innings.

losing to the nats when their ace pitches a gem is a loss where you tip your cap. So while you wouldn't call any loss a good loss it isn't like losing to a bad team that just got blown out and swept.

Losing when an ace throws a gem like a DeGrom, Scherzer, Kershaw, etc, no big deal.

But the Rockies were reeling coming in, it's a bad loss, but then again we probably should have lost one of the games during the streak so thats baseball i guess.

It shouldn't as it is more a reference to losing to a struggling or bad team on a day you had chances to win. No fan will call any loss a good loss for obvious reasons, they wouldn't be a fan of that team if they did so. But we will tip our hat when a good team's ace pitches a gem against us.

I expected a let down this week with the crazy travel, I just thought it would be in Toronto or at home against Chicago. Hopefully we got our only loss this week out of the way.

We were due for a stinker like this. No other way to put it. During our 8 game streak we certainly had a few wins the other teams would call bad losses. So it evens out

Agree Swarzak has been not good lately but to blame the "BP" is way off base. Blame Swarzak not the whole BP.

Truthfully want to blame something, try 1-12 w/RISP!! Or blame all of our "big guns" going 0fer--Acuna, Freddie, JD, and Swanson. Combined 12 LOB

I didn't see anyone blame Snits for his inability to manage the BP.
