I disagree with this. Just because he is a little rusty tonight that does not make him a bad pitcher.
Oh I am not saying he's a bad pitcher at all. He's still one of the best closers in the game. He has been spotty all year long. When he's on, he lights out. However he's been in a situations more often this season than ever before.
I am not advocating he be traded, but if a team called and asked Wren definitely should hear what they say.
Well, per Brian Jordan, Simmons has made it into Derek Jeter territory.
Lulz. I like Jeter, but I've seen Simmons make several dozen plays as good as any Jeter has made.
The Nats are trailing the Phillies now.
It's WC or bust.
We are not catching the Nats.
Repeat after me.

I will do that as soon as you repeat after me,
Fredi needs to be fired.![]()
They play their next 6 on the road against Seattle and LA after a 3 game sweep by Philly. Perfect time for them to hit the skids against Felix, Kershaw, Iwakuma. IF we play okay we could make up 2 games or so in that span (I'm hoping for 6).
We still have 6 games head-to-head as well so you never know.
I have a couple things to say about trading Kimbrel. A picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll save us all some time.

Kimbrel definitely needs to be talked about as a trade piece this off season. He isn't half the pitcher he was last season. He isn't worth the money.
