No word yet on Acuña availability, #Braves got in at 4 a.m. to Boston and had late report. He's getting checked now.

I'm not sold on Riley by a long shot. Small sample size. I think his at bats have been better and he's had some bad calls. But he still misses a lot of pitches in the fat part of the zone, not fouls off, just misses.

That said, maybe we will be rewarded letting him work it out. So if we are ok letting Riley suck for long periods of time, why not Wright? I know he's is frustrating as hell. I know he really struggles the second time though the order. But I'd rather watch him than any pitcher not named Fried or Anderson at this point. I may say the same thing about Newk and Touki at some point. I know the walks are the problem. But soft tossing Lefties are the worst. They suck for us and they baffle the Braves for the last 30 years.

Riley needs swings at the MLB level if he is going to make the adjustment. He mashes at AAA so trying to work through his plate approach there won't work. We are left crossing our fingers he develops that skill in Atlanta. Wright's problem sure seems to be between his ears. Getting shelled every 5th day isn't going to help him get his head right. Bring in Smoltz's psychologist and let him go Stuart Smalley in front of a mirror in Gwinnette for a while and then bring him back up when he is ready to trust his stuff and throw strikes.

Every day someone comes up with Riley and how he is a debit to the team. Someone wants Seager, Someone wants Brian Anderson. Riley may never duplicate 2019 start but at age 22 he outshines both of those and others even HOF Mike Schmidt. Give him a chance. We all may be surprised in the end.

Riley is in the midst of a good streak. Bad players go through good streaks all the time. He's still the same guess hitter he's been, although slightly less so this year.

If AA wasn't going to make significant adds to he rotation, he certainly wasn't going to upgrade over Riley, who is much better than most of the SPs the Braves are currently rolling out there.

At this point we all need to be the biggest Wright, Folty, and Hamels fans because those guys need to figure things out if the Braves are going to do anything other than show up for the playoffs hoping Acuna posts a 1.200 OPS for a few weeks. I mean, I wouldn't put it past him, but it's a pretty poor plan.

Snitker said they'd see how Acuña (hamstring tightness) feels tomorrow after doing some running and drills. They got in late (4 a.m.) from Philly and had late report to Fenway today, so he didn't get check by trainers till 4 p.m. or a little later.

Whether Riley becomes a league average or better bat, is an interesting debate that is less important if he doesn’t improve defensively.

Maybe LF is his calling? He's played well out there.

Yeah. Seemed like he faked it pretty well out there, but could be small sample size. Also doesn’t seem like the type that’s going to age well as he gets bigger.

Sorta need him to flip a switch offensively and starts mashing. I just don’t see how else he becomes a valuable player outside of his pre-arbitration years. He might just be our Mississippi version of Maikel Franco.

I love Freddie, but lol at BJ saying those numbers were very similar to Trout. Of the line he showed the only similar number was their batting average.
