8/31 - Braves @ Red Sox, #MyAce Edition

Ender has to have something wrong with him.

Maybe he really is just done as others have said. It happens out of the blue from time to time. He’s only looked like an MLB hitter for about 3 games.

I’ve only seen him look this horrid when hurt tho.

That $8m for 2021 looked like it'd be a steal at the time. Now—unless he can dramatically turn things around in September—we'll be left wondering if anyone will take him off the Braves' hands for free, or whether he'll be one of the more expensive fourth OFs in the league.

I know - it's crazy man. Seemed like a great deal then. I don't usually jump on the "play the kid" train, but I honestly think Pache would be better out there. I can take light hitting if we get stellar defense, but Ender isn't even providing that really. His UZR is -0.1 and his UZR/150 is 0.2. Just roll with Pache and maybe we get lucky and he hits .250 or something

There's certainly an argument to be made—especially since Pache is likely to at least hit for a little power. Inciarte isn't hitting for anything right now; and, as you said, the defense hasn't been there, either.

Way too early but it’s got an early stench to it.

With Covid though, I think you have to throw his numbers out the window for this year.

Any ~$40m commitment to a relief pitcher has an immediate stink on it, pretty much irrespective of the specific arm.

But I think his 2020 so far is pretty meaningless, given his long CoViD layoff.
