9/1... Going for sweep vs padres

I think the 2017 Braves might actually be able to win the division, provided they're realigned into a division where they exclusively play the Padres.

I know the Friars are bad, but the Braves just annihilated them.. This series is what good teams do to bad teams. Are the Braves a good team all of a sudden or just playing over their collective heads?

Just so I'm clear...

The board thinks Garcia is a legit option for 3b next year based off of 175 second half PAs, a .771 OPS in two weeks of hitting in the 2 hole, and the fact he scored 10 runs in a 13 game stretch?

That means more than all the other things he has done in 31 years (his age)?

Well...

...we used our three best starters in this series...and they all pitched well...

and...no one in our starting lineup is in a slump...and a couple key guys, Freeman and Inciarte, are hitting the ball especially well

We also used our 3 best starters. Our offense has been going not bad for awhile now. Our main problem in the 2nd half has been our pitching. I suspect our 2 next games we will get lit up.

Door Number Two.

I think he's a legitimate option for 2017 because I have no expectations for real success in that campaign, either, and moreover because I don't see much in the way of viable alternatives on the market. But the Braves should absolutely be looking for long-term solutions, whether within the system or without; and they should absolutely trade Garcia to the first team that comes sniffing with anything of value at the dangle, whether that's over this off-season or during next season.

Anxious to see how Bradley does. I hope he gets one of those starts.

don't get sucked into the black hole.. You know his comment was a complete Ass-umption based on nothing anyone said.

I guess I will be one of the very few who won't be surprised when we contend for a wc next year. I expect a very active off-season a la 1990 headed into 1991.

their is a big random component to home run to fly ball rates

That's the big debate between FIP and xFIP, but the theory behind normalizing home run rate to the league average isn't widely accepted within the sabermetric / scouting communities. I for one don't believe in it.
