9/10 GDT Nats game 1

Weird. It's like this "bullpen" game actually worked out for Snit and the Braves even though it wasn't intended to be that .

It's a shame the club didn't use one of these a few times a year instead of going down the AAAA barrel.

I think I could have thrown a quality start vs these nats. What are the odds of Chavez, Brebbia, and Jackson throwing 8 scoreless innings. If you told me they were throwing 8 innings in a non extra inning game blowout I would never have believed that we won that game.

Also, it's a little weird that we haven't seen Biggio added to the 40 man yet. Brebbia and Herget are dead weight. We could get equal production just from putting AJSS in the big league pen for the final 20 games. Hernandez is a better option than both of them. Luke Williams cannot continue starting for this team.

The rotation for the Dodgers series now looks like Sale on 4 days rest, SS on 5 days rest, Fried on 4 days rest, and then Morton on 5 days rest. This assumes they move up Sale over SS and they move Fried up past Morton. We can do this because of the timing of the off day before the series. Fried will then have the chance to hop SS in the rotation and pitch game 2 vs the Mets. I expect them to make that move. Which lines up SS for game 3 which could be a huge game. Morton will be on 4 days rest as well so they could possibly go with Morton.

Huh... I completely missed we signed Biggio. Certainly he's better than Luke... but he's still pretty bad. Brebbia has at least had a history of success... he had pretty awful luck with the White Sox... I thought he's looked pretty good in limited looks here.

Based on his velocity in his last start I would go ahead and push Sale back an extra day.

Biggio can at least take a walk.

And it appears to have resolved itself. Lopez to the IL, Hernandez up, Biggio up, Williams down, Herget DFA'd.
