9/13 GAME DAY thread ... Game Two vs Nats

Dusty is so dumb for sending Scherzer out on 100 pitches... all to get that magical win

That's been Dusty's MO from his first managing gig onward. I wouldn't doubt the Gnats' starters shuddered and beefed up their insurance policies when he was hired.

I wish both leagues had the same policy on the DH - add it in the NL or drop it in the AL.

I also wish each team had 26 players (not 25) just for flexibility.

Gohara showed the control needed to be a 2-pitch 3 win SP tonight. If he refines that change he will be the TOR guy we are all hoping for.

1) I was so encouraged by Gohara's start against a really good lineup.

2) I can't believe our bench has gotten so good

3) Albies has impressed the hell out of me

4) We have a legit shot to not suck next year

5) Some good arms emerging from the pen: Minty, Freeman, Winkler to go with Viz and Ramirez

What are your thoughts on how we should spend dollars next year? Would you be against Addison Reed?

I think we trade Viz, sign a reliever, and then go youth the rest of the way. McGhee, Shaw, Reed, and Nicasio all make sense. McGhee would be my preference

I would prioritize a starting pitcher (along the lines of Cobb, Garcia or Lynn) and a catcher (would love to bring Suzuki back). Bullpen would not be a priority. Nor would third. I think we need to find out what we have in Camargo. If he doesn't pan out, there is another rebuilding national league team that we might match up very well in terms of them needing some pitching and us needing someone to play third. But I would give Camargo at least half of 2018 to show us what he's got.
