9/20 Braves @ Gnats

I remember Riley being looked at as pitcher but I think by the draft most thought he was a hitter. The main objection I remember about it was that he probably would have been available with our next pick.

I think that was the biggest issue people had with both the Soroka and Riley picks, at least I know it was for me and from what I remember for most posters at the time. At the time I was miffed we didn't go with a bat with Soroka's pick and grab Soroka with the next pick. Obviously in retrospect it wasn't worth taking the risk Soroka wasn't there. I don't remember many being overly critical of the Minter pick outside of being wary about the TJ angle.

I can't stand the Nats. In fact I hate them so much I'll pull for a cubs' sweep and I hate the cubs too.

Chuckie's tells all his pitchers that if you keep throwing the ball as hard as you can, eventually a hitter will swing. you have to trust the process.. I mean that philosophy propelled Chuckie all the way to AA with a 7.1/9 BB... You have to believe in a guy like that...

Just because ... I'd to remind 50 that he thought calling up Minter was "incredibly dumb move." Yet another reminder that we should thank God that no one on this board is in the ATL front office.

Indeed, thank the higher power that Minter was here to temporarily keep us in game #150. A win could trim the divisional margin to 22.5.

Swanson is 4 for last 30 with 10 Ks

Albies is 2 for last 22 with 6 Ks

This is not how I want them to close out the year.

I wouldn't conflate the two. The season numbers are what need to be looked at. Swanson is probably the biggest Braves disappointment this year (and I say this even from the vantage point of someone who never bought into the hype the way a lot of others around here did). Albies came into the season as a highly rated prospect and has enhanced his value if anything.
