Up 5-0 in the third inning. Not bad so far for a team that got into Miami about 430 this morning. As nice as the last month has been, obviously wish we could've started playing like this a lot earlier in the year.

The Braves are 43-45 since June 14th. That's good for 7th in NL, ahead of Miami, Colorado, and San Francisco. Also the same record at the Royals and only two games worse than the Orioles.

Had to mute the game. Could only stand listening to these clowns talk about Collmenter "just knowing how to pitch" for 3 minutes.

FWIW - Collmenter sucks, but I've always thought he's done a good job of pitching above his abilities. He's had a really good career for someone that throws in the mid 80's.

Though it's not likely, with one more hot streak, Freddie has a shot at 100 RBIs before the seasons end. Insane.

If he can be a 800 ops guy with 30 hrs we can live with poor defense in LF. If Markakis can keep being a .350 OBP guy with 10+ hrs and something approaching average defense in RF, I think our worries about the OF are over.

outfield gonna be about average next year...6-7 WAR from the starters...with Mallex a very good fourth

I don't think FF has left his hot streak yet. 26 in a row. Only 4 away from longest in the majors. Funny thing is when Xander and JBJ was doing theirs, I was getting mlb updates. FF. Nothing.

I'm just hoping for average defense. He flashed at least that much potential during the NY series in which he made some plays in left which I didn't think were possible from him.

I think an OF of Kemp/Markakis/Inciarte/Davis could produce 7-8 WAR.

I think and OF of Kemp/Markakis/Smith/Davis can produce 6-7 WAR.

Because of that, if Inciarte can be traded for a 3+ WAR player at C, 3B or SP I would be in favor of making that move.

And now Simpson is too stupid to understand route efficiency. What exactly are the qualifications to be an announcer? The ability to find the ballpark?

Yes. He made everyone better. No one can deny that. And I just love watching guys like colimenter who know how to pitch.

Agreed. I see no reason to add to the rotation next year. Guys like Whalen and Collmenter can slot into the middle of the rotation because they just get outs. They have proven that you can succeed without throwing over 90 as long as you can hit your spots and change speeds.

Maybe they can be packaged with someone like Ellis or Ruiz to get Quintana?
