Congrats Ender!!
Mets and commentators wondering why Montero doesn't have good results.
I grade him as:
FF - 55/60
SL - 40
CH - 45 (too hard but lots of movement)
SI - 55/60
Command - 5 BB/9
An SP with 2 above average pitches and 2 more usable pitches (the SL might play up due to the excellent fade on his other pitches) with poor command is a #4 or a little better. A 0.310 xwOBA agrees with that assessment, as does his 2.3 fWAR pace over 200 innings.
His poor slider might be why he has reverse platoon splits in 100+ innings this year. Everything comes in to RHed hitters.
He is 26 and unlikely to improve his command much at such an advanced age. Another classic "stuff #4".

Last couple of starts, he's certainly made a case for himself.

Who would you bump out of my five I listed? You're wanting gohara in AAA, right?
Yup. A 21 year old can work on his change at AAA while the 24+ year olds prove whether or not they belong in a MLB rotation.
Dickey returned to form and will be a 2 bWAR pitcher again after tonight. Should have similar results next year. Hopefully we pick up that option.
