Interesting thought experiment: what's the return if we trade Acuna and Albies this off-season. We'd be selling high on both.

Interesting. Albies has increased his value from a year ago as a top ~10. That's not always the easiest to do. Acuna is going to have huge value this off season as a top 1-3 prospect. If he performs like many are hoping then his value would increase a ton. You could say we could be selling low on Acuna if he starts out on fire.

Gotta give it up to the braves for getting Gohara when they did. Might be the best trade they've made.

I think they both have expected surplus value north of 10 wins for their six years of contractual control. 10 is conservative.

Gohara seems to be following the same game plan he and Newk have been using the last month or so.

Save the change until the 2nd time through the order. Wonder how long it takes for teams to catch on.

Only signed through 2020. I think the Angels would have to kick in some significant extra value.

Trading Trout is impossible. Best player in baseball but the trade value isn't the best to simply put it. Angels would require much more value coming their way to justify trading him. No team is going to give that up.

I agree that it's conservative. Real soon Albies will be projected at 4.5 WAR per year.

Gohara has been incredibly efficient through most of his starts so far. That has been the real surprise for me. Glad his velo is back up.

I love being dead wrong. I wish this FO could make that happen more often.

If you spend 75% of your player acquisition assets getting pitching prospects, you are bound to hit on one.

Gohara seems to be the first one who is as advertised. I think that makes the FO 1 for 8 now?

Gotta be chuckie telling em that

The most important pitch for any pitcher is their fastball. Having a feel for it as soon as possible is essential to succeed. It's very common for pitchers to throw fastballs primarily the first time through. Everything works off a fastball.

Two of my kids went to Trout's first game in Anaheim and actually took a video of all his at bats that game. Their commentary (mainly my daughter saying wooo trout) is pretty funny. Has an impressive number of views on youtube. At least impressive to me.

If gohara is a 1 or 2 then they've done well. If gohara is back of rotation, not so much
