9/7 GDT: A's game 2

Hell of an approach for VG!

Grossman needs to fckn start doing something vs these LH he’s in to face.

Only 100.9 mph though. I don't even want hits if they don't light up statcast

There are examples of great hitters who get by with below average exit velocities. The Braves just haven’t had any good examples in recent years (unless you count Ozzie who is himself an anomaly).

Low strikeout rate, high BB rate, minimize flyballs, and hit the ball to all fields. Grissom looks like he could fit that profile of hitter. It probably doesn’t fit well in left field, but would as a middle infielder (or super utility).

Don’t care what position. Just give me a good hitter and I’ll live with it.

Would you pull him here? I know he can handle another inning, but he had a high pitch 1st. I'd pull em to make sure he stays fresh down stretch

Several times it looks like the home plate ump has called pitches three ball widths off the plate as strikes. I can understand missing occasionally but this is ridiculous.

Its easy (in theory) to find a good hitting LF. What makes Grissom interesting is he could be a good hitting MIF. If you are planning on just throwing him in LF, you are better off trading him.

If his overall athleticism translates to a plus defender in LF then the valuation changes. Big if but I don’t want to trade away a good hitter just because we don’t have a place for him at 2b. His skill set is unique and I think it’ll translate well against good pitching.

Are you? If he can play SS, he'd be insurance for 3 IF positions. He'd also be cheap
